May have been but it's too late now. Just think, that tree was probably growing when the pilgrims landed in Plymouth.
Here's a pic of a sycamore that's about the same size as the beech was. I've heard of bigger though butn might check it out. Nice setting with the cabin in the background. We actually hued out a few logs when moved/repaired it from the front of the farm.
I've always wanted to go out west and gawk at the redwoods and sequoias. Theose are just awe inspiring.
