Good point. Most all the mid range saws and bigger saws stay with 3/8 pitch. Make sure to look at your box and write those numbers down to get the length /size chain you need. I'd bet it's .050 gauge as well. Drive link is simply the length, they count the "links" and that will determine the size.

For the average user buying loops, premade sized lengths, is the way to go. Spools are cheaper but you have to get the tools to rivet them back together which won't offset the cost if you don't saw alot.

I prefer Stihl chain but it's more expensive. All of the brands will cut great if sharpened properly.
