from the vantage point of being in the heavy truck business, i get a lot of literature on oils and their benefits. unless you are doing mega miles, you will exceed the time to change interval before you put many miles on synthetic lube. there are systems out there that allow a class 8 tractor to travel over a hundred thousand miles without an oil change. the oil in the crank case is constantly displaced by fresh oil from a make up tank. the used oil goes into the fuel tank and is burned. the only system that i would spend my money on, and i am considering it when i get my megacab is the amsoil filter block and preluber. it reduces wear on startup by storing oil under pressure that is released on startup. the real valuable part of the system is the bypass filtration part. oil is filtered through a stock spin on, but a smaller percentage of the oil is directed to a much finer bypass unit. im not sold on the amsoil fluids. we use shell products with good success.
