I think all of the old Dodges that I resurrected had 3-4 old pumps hanging around.Usually a couple mechanicals, and an electric, either under the seat or screwed to the fender liner.

I'm guessing that leaving them parked dries out the diaphragms and they die. Electric cheapies have a rubber bellows, die also.
