I have been looking for a new Ram for a while, there are very few 2010 Ram 2500s around since they are just coming out, and not too many 09s around here either. I took the advice given a few Forums ago and searched on cars.com and found an 09 Ram 2500 (Hemi)in southern Ca. It had all of the features I wanted, at a decent price. I went to the local Dodge dealer and asked if they could buy that truck and then sell it to me, and take my 03 Ram in trade. I agreed to pick it up in Ca. They checked with the Ca dealer and looked at my truck. They came back with a good offer on my truck and had a good price on the new truck. I am unable to get to Ca until mid January, and the Ca dealer wanted it out as soon as all of the paper work is done. Bill Kerfoot has graciously agreed to pick it up and has found indoor space to store it until I get there. Of course my Wife says" You are going to let someone you dont even know take your brand new truck?" She just does not understand the Forum bond!
So, in mid January I have a gap between renovation jobs so I will fly out and have a great road trip home. If you are along the I 40 route and want a visit from a wayward Power Wagoneer, drop me a line.
Now I cant wait for mid January.
There has been a lot of disparaging and often well deserved talk about car dealers. I cant say enough good about Goss Dodge in S. Burlington VT. I wanted to hold off awhile to seal the deal as I will be trading my truck and will have to drive the Power Wagon for a while in the salt, which I try to avoid. They said no problem, and let me keep my truck, now their truck, with a dealer plate. Also, after the deal was mostly done, the manager came up to me and said he thought he could save me another $1,500. He came back about 5 minutes later and said there was some rebate he was able to get. Cool! He didnt have to go out of his way to do that. I was very impressed.
