the tire cannot be "borken down" with the
run-flat ring in place as you can see from
the drawings as there is no place for the tire bead to go so most standard type floor bead breaker tools will not work. the Pneumatic ken tool types (kentool.com) would probably be the best way. or perhaps (i have not tried this)
remove nuts, turn wheel upside down on a 4x6
block so the tire is about 2in off of the deck then using a standard floor bead breaker
break the back side loose (tire beads have some place to go). tire assembly is now off.
remove the run flat ring (see instructions in Pauls site) clean rim put tire (with outer rim) back on wheel and use floor bead breaker to separate tire from front rim
piece. from a mechanical standpoint should work still not easy working with 50 year old rust. might be worth a try
