If your charging system doesn't charge the one battery, ( and the existing battery is good) you will eventually have 2 dead batteries. Unless you plan to charge them up when they are run down. If you have a good battery and all your electrical connections are clean and tight maybe an alternator or generator that puts out more power will help. I used to have a 70 ford F100 when I was a kid, it had a 30 amp alternator. I put a 60 on it and it charged much faster. As was stated before your truck may not be charging at idle.
