Vent tubes are sop on later stuff, usually run externally to the filler neck. I've never seen one in the military FFPWs I've owned. This is the first PW I've owned, the rest were all military.

Oh, wait.. was it kind of a flat channel in the filler, didn't extend out of the filler?

Anyhow, one problem with the stock filler is the way it is necked down from 2 1/4" to 1 7/8" near the tank. That step must cause turbulance that blocks exiting air, making for more foam. I had to do mine different, simpler, without the step.
