Brake wheel cylinder assembly

How can you test your brake wheel cylinder assemby when your truck is disassembled? Can such a thing be done. Don't want to put them back on and fill with brake fluid to find that they leak and ruin a brand new paint job on my axles and brake assemby. Any suggestions?
