there is no REAL advantage that this head affords. Planing a stock cast head will yield similar results. flatheads don't need the cooling advantage that a finned head might afford and the related corrosion of dissimilar metals caused by an al head is likely not worth the effort. a water heated dual intake manifold is an improvement, but again, i would prefer the stock car 230 cast intake manifold that takes a 2bbl carter , married to a 'split' cast exhaust manifold. carb. you get the heat transfer from manifold to manifold without running coolant water through the intake. there are many ways to modify, but i prefer the ones that look stock except to guys in the know.
