Okay, this is really weird (radiator question continued)

On the M43, there's a good 4" horizontally between the lower radiator outlet elbow and the front motor mount bracket. On the M37, there's a scant 1/8". Both look to have the same radiator. Both radiators are the same distance back from the front grill. The M43 has a nicer shroud and a 6-bladed fan, whereas the M37 has a hacked up shroud and a 4-bladed fan. On the M43 there's about 6" from the crankshaft pulley to the radiator, but on the M37 there's only 2".

I finally measured the heads, and it looks like somebody swapped the bigger motor (251?) into the M37 at some point. I never knew that until now, and it sure doesn't seem very powerful. Anyway, that accounts for 2" of the difference, since the moved the motor mount up by 2". Even so, there's another 2" of clearance that disappeared somewhere. The radiator sure seems to be in the right spot. It's a miserable sloppy snowy day today or I'd take pictures of both setups. When the weather eases up, I'll loosen up the M37 radiator mounts and see if I can get another 1/8" of clearance somehow. That would make all the difference in the world.

In the meantime, is it normal when doing a 230 to 251 upgrade, to have the lower radiator outlet come out practically touching the front motor bracket?
