It's easy to believe that while you're healthy, but either no one has yet had the right kind of religious faith like you have, or it's not true either, because everyone eventually dies, and if they get old enough they die of disease. I've known lots of people with loads of faith, and some of them had the whole church praying for their healing, but they still died. Not to start a religious argument, but when you have God inflicting all sorts of misery and disease on Job just to win a bar bet with the Devil...

I guess the bottom line for me is that it's real easy for healthy people, be they Christians, scientologists, or yoga teachers, to think their good health is because of their right living, right eating, and right thinking, when it's really just good luck (so far). And it's really arrogant and cruel for healthy people to even imply to people with cancer that it was their own fault that they got it because they didn't have enough faith, or they ate meat, or whatever. Sure, if the guy is 400 lbs and he's got diabetes and heart disease, tell him to lose weight, or if he's smoking 3 packs a day of camel regulars and coughing all the time, tell him to quit smoking, but cancer's not nearly that simple.
