I just now bottled a gluten-free Oat and sugar beer. So many beer people say no to sugar, but so may wine recipes use so much!. And sorghum based beer is too expensive for a home brewer. I thought I ought to try a sugar based beer. So I bought 4# of steel cut oats, dampened and roasted them in a cookie sheet in the oven, used a steeping grains idea with 4# of mexican sugar. Added EKG hops. Fermented with Nottingham yeast.

Not nearly as good as Flat Ass Tired, but better than the sorghum based beers. And that was flat, today. Wait and see how aging improves it.

Ken, next time I send some homebrew to Drake, Co, I'll let you know. You can show up in your IH and bum some from my Bro- if you are quick enough!

Anybody else will have to show up here in San Diego.
