How fresh is the engine? I have milled .075 from some heads but if you have a head that has been machined a few times you may not have enough material. The biggest improvents in power I have achieved without changing the carburetor to a 2 barrel or 2 singles is by chaning the cam, and shaving the head and upping the size of the main jet in the carb. The cams in ALL htes flatheads are WAY too samll. They are designed to run on 70 octane fuel. go lumpy! install cam, measure valve height then see if you have room in the head for the new lift, shave head as much as you can and leave at least .100 clearance between head and valves ( factor in head gasket thickness also). I would not do this unless the engine was rebuilt recently or very low mile truck.
