I'm not sure this is the place for arguing political conspiracy theories. If you know of another forum where you're discussing this, maybe you could post a brief link here and some of the guys would want to go over there and talk about it. Otherwise, my impression is that most of the guys here prefer to discus Dodge trucks.
I will say, though, that as far as I'm aware, soldiers on any post within the US are only allowed to carry weapons during training exercises. I suspect the penalty for having an unauthorized private weapon on one's person is severe. Seeing as how this massacre happened in what is basically a paper-pushing area of the base, there would be no reason for authorizing even "combat vets" to be armed in that area.
