Not sure if I can do both duals with single chains or not. There may not be enough room between the tires. Ideally I'd have 2 pairs of dual chains and one pair of singles and chain everything. Putting them on and off is no fun, but if I put them on now and left them on until spring, it'd be okay. I'm looking at taking an M35 over the hill to tow back my drivable M37, and then take it in chained up, hopefully in the still-fresh tracks a few days later, to get the M543 wrecker, and tow the M37 out behind the wrecker. I'd hike in and try to do it in one trip, with the wrecker pulling the M37 but I don't have the chains over there for the wrecker. At this point there's probably about a foot and a half of wet untracked snow. It's a narrow road and a 10% grade in places so turning around is not an option. Wish I'd gotten this done last week.

I have one pair of dual chains for the M35, and a full set of chains for the M37, but I'm making up what I hope will be enough chains for the M543 out of my big pile of surplus chains. The tires are 11.00-20s.

I was hoping that 4 single chains would be enough for the wrecker, but the more I think about it the more I think I'll need to chain up at least all the tires on one rear axle. That means I probably should make up a set of dual chains before I head over. I have to cut the chains down a bit anyway to fit. I assume an M54, like an M35, has no inter-axle differential so both rear axles are powered. To get stuck, an M35 has to spin at least one wheel on every axle.

No lockers, unfortunately. I did buy a set of Dan's Rockwell lockers, but haven't installed them yet.
