That's the easiest installation, and I'm sure it works great on the big rigs on compact snow and ice on the interstates, but I'm talking about going through a foot or two of unpacked snow on narrow mountain roads. My concern with just chaining one tire of a dual set is that the unchained one would sit on top of packed snow spinning while the chained one would dig itself a hole but would not be able to get down to the ground because it's being held up by the un-chained one.
