there is no real benefit to a prius or other hybrid vs a high mpg civic or accord, or hyundai. when you factor battery life, added initial expense, maint, etc. a small engined import is the way to go if you want high mileage / high value over time. i haven't met a prius owner yet that doesn't consider their car a statement and not just a commuter ride. they will bore you silly telling you about how wonderful their car and they are, even if you dont ask. the appliance drivers drive the import vehicles mentioned above. must be a boring life.
