The only real difference here is that the 400 has a weighted flywheel and the 440 may or may not need a weighted flywheel (check the converter for weights where the 440 came from).
The roller pilot bearing Will described completely removes any risk to this swap, but you may need to drill the back of the crank for 4-speed input shaft clearance (not too deep!).
Everything else on this swap should be easy, truck uses different oil pan and exhaust manifolds, different years used different water pump housings and some bosses may need to be drilled and tapped.
A 440 in an '67 and later A-body (Duster/Dart/Valiant) can be pretty easy these days, but is much harder than a 400-440 swap.
