Dont believe everything a salesman tells you. I bought a high-dollar mig welder a couple years ago. This year I went to a place where venders were peddling their stuff. They were trying to sell me a new miller welder. Told them what I was using. The salesman told me he felt sorry for me. That mine was not as good as the newer model the 252. ?????? My welder is only two years old and they tell me it is junk compared to newer ones? I paid $2500 for my welder and it has nver let me down. Why would I want to buy a new one? Salesman are the pits. They want you to keep buying newer and newer models. They may work on commission.
I have a 15 year old napa mig that still works fine. I have a sears mig 8 years old that works fine.
To tig steel or stainless steel all you need is a dc arc welder. Get a tig torch, bottle,an regulater and you can scratch start tig welding them. I have made food grade welds with them. Back gas the weld if it is a tube or pipe that needs to be food grade.
