My 1960s P&H monsters are still working fine, and given that I have full access to everything IndochinaThugWorks makes in the lab at the LWS, I wouldn't carry one home if they gave it to me.
ITW has pulled a flat out dirty trick on the buyer with all their software driven machines, you pay to fix their mistakes and pay more for upgrades.

On the other side of the street, Lincoln upgrades to software are part of the initial sale price.

Inverters exist for robotic operations and people who think the machine makes the weld. Inverter machines will leave you up the creek in 7 years when the manufacturer is no longer required to support them. Rapid rollover of models with just one added feature exist among the manufacturers to force replacements.

The only honest claim I ever found for an inverter machine is that it's small and light weight.
