Are your OP readings from a old elec gauge/sender. Have you check it with a mechanical gauge to verify if there is a low OP or maybe just a faulty/worn gauge. If gauge reading is correct then go with whats already been previously suggested. Minimum op at idle (running temp) should be 12psi ( my rebuilt 230 is 42psi at idle)
