interesting idea. How would this affect lubrication, the gears spray oil around, right. will they spray the oil as efficiently this way. also I have heard that the modern manuel trans with overdrive fail (after some time) because the the power is transfered from the main shaft to another shaft etc instead of when you are in a direct drive gear when the fron shaft and rear shaft are effectively locked together. Let us know how it works
