I was told by an old machinist and engine builder that using forged pistons, instead of cast, will give significantly longer running between overhauls. The forged pistons will hold their dimensions much better and not promote wear of the rings and cylinder walls. This old feller is very smart, self taught on many aspects of engines and is a die-hard MOPAR man.
