I am currently finishing a frame swap. I have a 54 FFPW going onto a 2000 Ram 2500 4X4 chassis e/w a 5.9 Magnum gas engine. The newer chassis is 2 inches narrower than the original frame so body mounts end up getting hung over the edge of the newer frame. There has been an ample amount of space for every component under the hood including the newer vacuum brake booster, power steering, ABS system, ECU, and power distribution center with lots of space left over under the old sheet metal. All of the frame shortening was done at the rear so all of the front suspension and steering remains original. All we had to do was shorten the rear drive shaft by approximately 5 inches. We moved rear shackles, shock mounts and fuel tank forward with no clearance issues. I had a custom aluminum radiator and condenser fabricated within the original radiator cowl and we just finished fabricating a fan shroud around the Ram's original mechanical fan. We have lots of pictures of every step if you are interested. I decided on the frame swap because the FFPW frame was rusted at the center cross member. Let me know if you have other questions.
