I haven't had anything quite as nice as the ride you have in the photo, but I have had a neat old Series I from the early fifties, the IIA from 68, a III from 75, as well as a 94 Range Rover. All good vehicles, but I must admit the new Rangies are just a little too complicated which isn't bad if everything works, but unlike the Japanese the Brits were not too good in the electrical department.
I love that Defender all the same.
