cant answer on the pump either but if the 273 pump is shorter I would go with that. I have owned to V8 PWs and neither one had the helitool kit. I would never go through all that modification to the nose if I was going V8. Stock fan to radiator clearance with the 230 is only about 1 inch. If the v8 set up had the same I would be happy with it. or return the helitool kit and make one that sets the engine farther back.
