Rick,

The first thing to look at is did the truck once have a serial number tag and a body tag on the door jamb or not? If there are holes for both tags, but no evidence they were ever used then that is most likely a 1957 or early 1958. If it is a 1957 or 1958 there will be a body tag on the cowl. If it is a 1958 and newer truck the serial number tag would be on the rear drivers door jamb.

If the holes were used for the serial number tag, but not the body tag is is most likely a 1954 to 1956 truck, as for some reason most of those did not get body tags on the door jamb.
