Mopar Norm sold sets of 318 Poly headers. They were made hands-off by a header mfg. Norm had to pay $5000 up front for the tooling. At 50 sets, that was $100 per set tooling. Norm made "Profit", from a risk, what with the $5000 plus paying up front for actual production.

To make welded-from-stock-mandrel-bends 230 headers, I built a couple weld jigs. I can sell a set for what Norm got, $700, if anybody wants one. Pays me a decent wage, one at a time (if ever).

I think windshield frames, like Rays stuff, call for the small-production tooling method. NOT computerized, precision machinery to make six bends of three radii.

Lessee, 12 feet of stock, horrendous price of $4/ft, that's $50 cost. Nice, old frames worth $400, that's ten hours at $35. Six bends over a stump at 10 minutes each... one per month... I'm game, if nobody else is.
