Could it be that the different wires are used for the hi/lo speed selection (or hi/med/lo) rather than like the more modern blowers that use external resistors? In any case, you're unlikely to do any damage to it by experimenting. See if putting the power to different leads makes it go at different speeds. Make sure the blower is attached to the motor because without a load on it, the motor will go pretty fast regardless of how you hook it up.
