Use the stainless sleeve that is the easy route. If you decide to weld it you will need to do more than just fill the groove. If you are useing steel filler first undercut the entire surface at least 20 thou then build it all up and turn it down to stock size. If you are brazing you can skip the undercutting step. I personally would never use any of the spray transfer stuff, seen too much of it fail.
