Dean,

That is the Shortest "long" post I ever read. No need to apologize. We are here to help and be helped.

I have owned a 96 F-350 since 2002 and I am extremely happy with it. Started with 46,000 miles and I know have 135,000 on it.

My main concern is winter starting. That is the main issue I have. I now carry a small 1200 watt generator during the winter in the truck's bed to plug the engine warmer in to. Within 45 minutes, it is ready to start.

But, keep fresh glow plugs, quality fuel, and drain the water/fuel sperator often.

Some parts are pricey.
--Oil-16 quart capacity
--Larger oil filter
--Water pump
--Fuel pump
--Injectors/pump

But no spark plugs, distributor, wires etc.

Fuel is priced just under unleaded reg. First time in years.

Has PLENTY of pulling power. No pick up off the line. Too bad for the impatient people behind me.

A great bumper sticker:
"I maybe slow, but I am ahead of you"
Does not go fast. She is like a football lineman.

Fuel milage is 15-18MPG average. I don't have the chip that claims to increase mileage and horse power. Maybe I will get one.

Enjoy,
