In a application used hard off road I might be concerned that the corn head grease would be extra messy if you had to change an axle shaft on the trail or in the parking lot, ask Will. I used to use Shaeffer grease which is a synthetic I believe. I had to change a broken lockout on the trail and I must have gotten a little water in the wheel bearings, well when I replaced the flange with the lockout about a month later my wheel bearings were corroded and had to be replaced. I am currently trying Green Grease (available at Tractor Supply) which is basically a high quality marine grease. I am hesitant to recommend it until I have used is a little longer but I believe if the truck is likely to wind up in mud or water that a marine grease with corrosion inhibitors is a must.
