Well guys, we are moving again...
Sunday I will be flying to London with the family for a new assignment with Caterpillar. That will make it 10 moves in 10 years of marriage! Amber is quite the trooper!!
We will be living outside of a town named Shrewsbury. We have rented an old farmhouse in the middle of a 340 acre working farm. We are really looking forward to the atmosphere - and the change from Shanghai.
The best part of all is that we get to drive!! I am still shopping, but I am set on buying a slightly used Land Rover Defender 110. I have always wanted one, but the availability in the US has kept me from it. I can't wait to drive, again!
About 4 weeks ago, I was in the UK on a visit. After dropping the family off at the airport, I headed for a Land Rover shop a few hours from London. After breezing through the inventory at the shop, I had an invite from the owner to visit them that afternoon at a large Land Rover show an hour or so away and join them for a BBQ late in the evening. Well, afternoon turned into evening pretty quickly around the campfire and come about 10 pm, I decided that I had better head out to find a hotel. That was when the owner went to his camper and grabbed an Australian Swag. I was all set, I would get to spend a second day at the show.
I suppose I had been laying there looking at the stars and listening to the campfire stories all around the fairgrounds for 20 minutes or so when it hit me... THIS IS NORMAL.... Other than the fact that there were about 1200 trucks, it could of just as easily been a Power Wagon Rally. Good stories. Good friends. And, cool trucks!
