Mounted mine in the stock location just further out to clear the exhaust manifolds. I built a steel box and double insulated it to protect the battery. Had to extend a "box" out on the inner fender apron since the battery is now further out.
I went with a "if Dodge had put a V8 in it" on my PW(single exhaust, 2bl carb, no chrome or aftermarket stuff), thats why I chose to keep mine where it was.
The only drawback to the way I did mine is that to get the battery you have to take the fender loose and slide it outward to get clearance to lift the battery up and out. About 1/4 of the battery is out under the fender.
