I recently read an article about the Graham Supercharger car. It used a f6 engine similar to ours with a belt driven supercharger about where our generator sits. Bare with me a moment- Yesterday I read an article about a group of guys building a drivable hotrod in 24hrs - heaps of detail - perched on top was a belt driven supercharger from a Toyota mr2. It was being used between the engine and carburetor. If one was to use one of these mr2 blowers and set it up like they did on the Graham, it would not only work well, but could also look sorta factory. So much fun, so much else to do. Think I would leave the genny where it is and mount the mr2 above it. First thought then would be a cross-over tube to the top of the carb and plumbing for a filtered air supply. Double pulley on crank and waterpump - one belt drives genny and the other drives the mr2, work out the pulley size so about 3 to 5 pounds boost and away you go. There are several options for this type of application and as long as the boost is kept low, no internal mods required. You might even use a switchable clutch on it, so you only run it when you want. Bloody devious us blokes.
