Interesting about them being the same as Rockwell boots. If the axle is similar to the Rockwell axle, be careful where you position the screw parts of the two wire clamps that hold the boots on. I had a terrible time on one of my M35s with the boots coming off, no matter how carefully I seated it in the groove and no matter how tight I tightened the screw until I figured out that when you turn the wheels all the way, the screw was hitting on part of the axle and knocking the wire clamp loose. There's nothing in the TM about positioning the screw in any particular way, but it appears to be vitally important. It's been a while since I've done one, so I don't remember exactly where the "good spot" was, but I'm thinking it was at the top or bottom, rather than at the front or back. Once you're working on it, you'll see where it goes.

Also, dope up the zipper with some black RTV once you have the boot on. The TM talks bout some sealer that's supposed to come in the box with the boot, but I've never seen it. You'll never be taking the boot off until it falls apart again anyway, so having the zipper not be unzippable isn't a problem. Water getting in through an unsealed zipper would be a problem though.
