I would spool it with 250 feet. Even if you needed only to use the top layer of cable, you have more than enough engine power to drag, lift or pull your truck up anything and out of anything. The pull of the winch is designed to drag a 5,000 pound block of dead weight on the ground and that's not at the first layer of cable. You will never require the winch to do that amount of work unless you use a tree as an anchor, tie your truck to it, to pull what ever you intend to pull. That extra 100 feet does come in handy.
