Eric,

I'm not against Health Insurance Reform, in fact I'm in favor of it. It however is not what I've read of the 1,000+ page Health Care Reform Bill.

You may not know it, but I am currently among the un-employed, and not sure what I will do when the COBRA runs out.

I like the Coop option as long as it's not Government run. Open up the competition and they will be able to become reality. Do you know who invest their money in Insurance Companies and Why? To make money, so yes they are out to make a profit, and I wonder what will happen to a lot of financial funds when those companies are legislated out of the profit business. will we then have another financial crises?

I believe you can make the changes in a series of smaller much more problem focused bills that will fix the problem, not deal with the results. I have written the Government and said so with some ideas like those that follow:

Tort Reform - Why do doctors do so many test, and not trust the test done by others, because they are afraid of getting sued for not making absolute sure they are 100% perfectly accurate in their diagnoses/prognoses.

Doctor/Medical Payment - The current method the Insurance companies are permitted to use to pay doctors based on test/procedure leads to miss use/abuse. Although I'm for less Government not more, putting regulations in place to eliminate these methods will help greatly.

Pre-existing Conditions - Eliminate it if you have had continuous insurance coverage (changing insurance providers).

Sate limited Insurance - Although I'm in favor of States running them selves, Health Insurance should be just like the Automotive Coverage, you can buy it from any company in any state (as long as the company meets the states requirements).

Insurance Portability - Change it so the insurer owns the policy, not the employer.

There are several others, but these would be a great start.

God bless you,
Will
