The 251 uses a water pump that hangs out the front of the block a long way, the water pump on the '46 Dodge truck is 2" shorter from the block to the fan, although the centre of the fan is higher relative to the radiator. You still have to drill the front crossmember for whichever engine mount you decide to use, but looking at my '54 with 230 vs M601 with 251, I believe you can mount the early radiator support to the later crossmember and with the early type water pump you should be able to use the early radiator and grille assembly.
