You fail to mention the additional cost per union employee which effectively doubles the 58K you reference. As a former unionized worker (teamster)and currently a self employeed business owner with numerous employees I am well aware of the cost of a unionized employee. Poor attendance,poor work ethic,confrontational attitude toward management,are just a few of the traits of a union shop in addition to the overpriced cost of labor. Remove the unions and let the market dictate an employees worth. The best will be well compensated and the worst can rely on Mr. Obama and his ilk for their check. Unions are nothing more than back door extortion and have brought great companies to their knees with their insane demands for more money, benefits,etc. when they should have been promoting greater productivity and thusly greater profits for their employer. If a worker wants to enjoy the benefits of his companies increased profitablity he should buy company stock as part of his self directed IRA or retirement plan.
