The road draft tube verse the PCV type is a horse power issue > the pcv valve robs the engine of vacum > alters fuel mixtures and cause chnges in the high speed low speed circuits esp at high altitudes> a stationary type power plant would not benifit from a road draft tube at > so if the truck was to be equipt with a rear pully or pto it would be better to have a positive venting system for crank case gasses to be burn off and reduce condensation in the engine > on typical road unit a draft tube by the design generally a tube cut on a angle at or near the road level produces a negative pressure (vacum ) to draw off water vapour unburnt fuel in the crankcase and keep case pressures low which is importaqnt to keep seals and gaskets from leaking if high crank pressure exists > Most import that the the breather to the case (if not a sealed unit) be cleaned in solvent and oiled to trap entering dirt ~ Copey
