So I tried a truck pull last night

I only made it 35 feet and just ran out of traction. I thought it was odd that other trucks with smaller tires seemed to have adequate traction so I drove to the pits and had my wife watch the right rear tire while I gave it some gas. The left spun the right did not. My first thought is broken axle shaft but I cannot rule out something in the lock right being broken. My lockright has been a spool for the past year I have been told that I broke one of the alignment pins in the lockright but I have not found the fully locked rear to be objectionable and had no intention of fixing it. We will see tonight when I pull the axle shaft, but if the shaft is broken it is a Foote replacement shaft. I don't think I broke whatever is broken at the truck pull as I fourwheeled the truck pretty hard at a local park last weekend and it didn't feel right driving to the fair. I believe I am now at the crossroads do I sink money and time into possible axle upgrades or do I break down and swap in modern 1 ton axles?
