Otherwise, sounds like DKR hit it.

I did put a humoungus pressure plate on my 428 F-250. The clutch lasted 100,000 miles, when one of the fingers wore through. Tough to lube the finger pivots.

Having learned to drive a crash box Dodge, I've never worn out a clutch in any vehicle. Replacement was usually for warping a fly wheel, or bad rear main seals.
