Just curious. I have an unrebuilt FH6 230 that runs well, but at idle it smokes some out of the valve cover vent pipe. Oil pressure by the original gauge is about 15 at idle and 30-35 at avg engine rev up. The smoke, would that be more related to valve guides or rings or both ? Oil pressure I think is ok, but on a very healthy 230 I have the oil pressure at idle is 30 plus, but it is an exceptional engine. Oh, on old smokey Joe, I pulled the pan, and cleaned it and the oil pick up screen. It had lots of old greasy gunky globs in it. Anyone have any thoughts on old smokey joe ?
