Real simple- If sold as trucks the auctioneer easily becomes a Defendant in a Lemon Law action. Dove took it in the ass once and isn't going to again.
Since the majority of the bidders will be scrapper or recycler yards selling this way protects Dove.
18% buyers premium indicates one of 2 situations, either Dove already owns the complete lot, or the seller got a really low comission. Either way, Dove will make 25% moving the lot across the block.
