Well -
Lind was local.
Hershberger and Laws had support vehicles with trailers that they used.
Barmore shipped his.
I drove mine over 5,000 miles (the exception was some eastbound time in a Penske truck - 2,000 miles from Oregon to Ohio).

I can say that if you didn't know your vehicle before that trip, most learned about it along the route!

An extraordinary, and many times moving, experience. I will not hesitate to do the 70th Alaska trip in 2012 and coast to coast convoy again on the 100th in 2019.
