That urethane is some tough stuff!

I didn't want my glass so glued in that that the frame might be damaged when it came time to pry the glass out.

So I assembled the frame and glass with only small bits of rubber to keep the glass centered, then applied urethane windshield stuff only in a bead along each face, not fully bedding the glass. It's well glued in, but can be removed by slitting the small bead. No great force will be needed to what may be a $2,000 frame by then.

AND, I drilled small holes in each lowest corner of the frame. That seems to be where the rust always starts, I hope letting the water out will help longevity. And my 'not filled groove' will allow drainage to that corner. Drill through both layers of frame, you want to drain the inside of the hollow frame too.

And next time I think about it, I can squirt some oil into the frame from the bottom. Or maybe some kind of wax emulsion, or the stuff they sell at marine stores for spraying on engines?
