I am sickened at hearing this kind of crap going on on our country today. For the sacrifice of all of the men and women, families, countries as a whole to be disregarded is a complete discrace. That cross symbolizes much more than any religious belief, it is symbolic of the lifes offered by so many for everyone. I deeply believe that we as Americans have the right to speak our opinions, however, I also believe that the only right we do not have as Americans is to be offended by what that cross means. If you are so offended, don't look, if you feel that remembering everyone who has died in defence of their country no matter their color, creed, religion, etc. is offensive, then you have the right to leave.

I find it hard to believe that war has never touched the life of this person, there is no one on earth who has not had their life touched in some way by the sacrifice of another. The memorial is not a religious statement, it is a statement of who we WERE as a country and we have lost site of that.

I am not a soldier, I chose not to be one. I was allowed to make that choice because of the sacrifice of other people. I never forget that. I am decended from some of the first Americans, my family fought in the Revolutionary war, I am a relative of President Grant, and my family has served in all of the wars that this country has fought in. I am an American. Perhaps if that cross is taken down, we should all get together and sue because we are offended at the lack of that cross.
