Well as the "Lock Ring" is the bead seat
part of the wheel need to install tube & flap on the rim & then compress the tire so
the bead drops down about 2 inches or so from
the rim which will allow you to install the
lock ring with some thin nylon spacers to
protect the coated rim & lock ring then remove the spacers, & uncompress the tire
and it is a done deal - the only problem is
"HOW TO COMPRESS THE TIRE ASSEMBLY".
i would use 2 4x4s spaced about 18 or 19 inches apart and make a compression tool
that would fit across the front of the tire
and with another 4x4 at the back and using
a piece of threaded rod screw up and you are
done.
but this is an old tire mans idea
i just walked my lock rings down with my boots and touched up the paint
